The stainless steel slide features a built-in two-port compensator for effective muzzle rise reduction. Fit, finish, and tolerances remain exceptional, with smooth, reliable operation backed by Sig’s reputation and consistent high-round-count performance in reviews and real-world use.

Handguard & Modularity — Standout Feature

The P365 AXG Legion retains P365 modularity for easy FCU transfers, slide swaps, and accessory compatibility. The integrated compensator delivers recoil control without added length or aftermarket reliability concerns. Optics-ready design supports low-profile compact red dots. An extended aluminum magwell speeds reloads, and three included 17-round steel magazines (with basepads) maximize capacity without sacrificing concealability. Legion program perks—gear discounts, events, and exclusive access—enhance ownership value.

Accuracy & Performance

The 3.1-inch barrel, heavier aluminum frame, and compensator yield outstanding accuracy—tight groups at 15–25 yards with XRay3 sights or mounted optics. Recoil is remarkably flat (often praised as the “best shooting P365” with minimal muzzle flip), enabling fast, precise follow-ups even with hotter loads. The X-Series flat trigger provides crisp breaks and short resets. Reliability is top-notch—flawless function across 115gr, 124gr, and 147gr ammo after brief break-in—ideal for defensive drills, competition, or daily carry.

Installation & Real-World Durability

Ready straight from the box: install an optic using included plates, zero it, and shoot. The aluminum frame, stainless slide, and durable Cerakote finish excel in wear, corrosion, and high-volume resistance. The proven P365 platform ensures minimal maintenance for EDC or hard use. Recent grip module refinements (around early 2025) improved holster compatibility without impacting performance.

Full Video Transcript – SIG P365 AXG Legion Review

0:00 Hey everybody, welcome back to the Armed Scotsman. Today on the table we have the SIG P365 AXG Legion. Let’s get this one going.

0:55 Alright everybody, as I said, this is the SIG P365 AXG Legion. We’re down at Ready Gunner again today.

1:11 Let’s take a nice close look at this Legion. Starting at the bottom here. This is a Legion base plate. It comes with 17-round mags — these are aluminum base plates with awesome capacity.

1:27 It comes with this magwell already attached, which is very nice for easier magazine insertion. It’s not perfectly flush — there are slight ledges — but it hasn’t affected function. If you’re going to conceal carry, you can remove it.

2:06 You have these excellent G10 grips with the Legion logo. Very nice texturing for a positive grip. You can change them out if you want, but I really like the look and feel of these.

2:38 Nice checkering on the front strap, back, and under the trigger guard. There’s a good trigger undercut so you can get a high purchase. With medium-sized hands, this gun fits like a glove.

3:12 The mag release has nice serrations and is easy to manipulate without breaking your grip.

3:30 The trigger is a flat-face design. There’s a bit of take-up, then it feels like you’re at the wall. The break is typical SIG — a little gritty — but the reset is very crisp, tactile, and clean. I like that a lot.

4:19 Trigger pull came in at just under 5 lbs on this well-used gun. Decent trigger, not too light for carry.

4:44 The lower/frame is aluminum, so this is an all-metal gun. I really like the feel of metal frames. It does make the gun a little heavier than a standard polymer P365.

5:10 Standard 1913 Picatinny rail up front — great for lights and lasers.

5:35 The slide has aggressive front and rear serrations — very grippy. It comes with SIG X-Ray sights (high-viz green front, tritium rear with anti-glare serrations). Optics ready with RMSc footprint.

6:21 This is the built-in compensator. It helps reduce muzzle rise by venting gases upward.

6:46 The slide lock/release is pretty flush but still easy to manipulate. Loaded chamber indicator on the slide.

7:11 Takedown is simple: pull the slide back, lock it, push down the takedown lever, and slide it off.

7:35 Captured metal guide rod. 3.1-inch barrel. Even though this gun has been shot a lot, the fit and finish still looks excellent.

8:23 Like other modern SIGs, it has a removable fire control unit (the serialized part) so you can swap it between different chassis.

8:54 Size comparison: It’s noticeably longer than the original P365 but still very compact. Same length as the P365 Macro. Compared to a Glock 43X, it’s just a smidge longer with two extra rounds of capacity. Very doable for concealed carry.

10:05 Shooting impressions: I put about 300 rounds through it with zero problems. The compensator really helps with recoil — it’s a pleasure to shoot. The metal frame gives it excellent balance and weight.

10:30 This is one of the best P365 variants. It’s not quite as deep-concealment friendly as the original, but overall it’s a fantastic gun.

10:44 At the time of this video, it’s around $1,200. Is it worth it? That’s up to you — it’s significantly more expensive than a standard P365 or Glock 43X, but you’re definitely getting your money’s worth in quality and features.

11:14 Another great home run for the P365 lineup.

11:23 Alright folks, that’s it for me. If you have any questions or comments, please ask below. Happy to help out wherever I can. Until next time, we’ll catch you later.
